‘Massive improvement’ – Everton fans on Twitter already loving Silva’s comments

The Everton fans in the Transfer Tavern are delighted this afternoon as they finally have a manager that they can get behind in Marco Silva. The Portuguese tactician, who’s previous experiences in England have come with Hull and Watford, was confirmed as the new boss at Goodison Park on Everton’s website and the fans will be looking forward to seeing some free-flowing football under him.

Marco Silva was touted to take over the reigns at Everton back in October when Ronald Koeman was sacked by the club although eventually Sam Allardyce was appointed and Silva lost his job at Watford shortly after. Now though, Allardyce has been sacked by Farhad Moshiri not even a year into his contract, despite steering the club away from the relegation zone to an 8th place Premier League finish.

Despite finishing 8th, the Toffees weren’t happy. The fans had their expectations set high after what looked like a successful summer transfer window last year, bringing in Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Davy Klaasen for fees of over £20 million. However, a number of the club’s debuting players failed to perform and then under Allardyce’s boring style of football, the fans decided they’d had enough.
