For the West Ham fans in the Transfer Tavern, the second-half of the season is going to be just as important as the second-half of their last campaign. In both of the last two seasons, the Hammers have struggled throughout much of the first portion of the campaign – with a much-needed fightback necessary thereafter.
That’s going to be needed again this term, with just 3 points seperating the Hammers with the relegation places.
BREAKING: @WestHamUtd midfielder Pedro Obiang likely to miss the rest of the season after having knee surgery – Sky sources. #SSN pic.twitter.com/RQgtHHyxYj

A regular in the Hammers’ first team this season, the influence that Obiang has had on David Moyes’ team has been immense. A midfielder controller, he has often been the glue holding the team together.
However, now Moyes is going to have to look elsewhere, it seems, and it’s fair to say that he’ll likely be very disappointed with the news.
Unsurprisingly, West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to discuss this report, and it hasn’t gone down well. Indeed, most fans seem to be saying the same thing: why didn’t they bring in more midfield quality during the January transfer window? After all, Obiang suffered the injury in an FA Cup tie taking place in January.
They’ll certainly be hoping for answers over the coming days and weeks, but for now, take a look at what else they’ve been saying below…
