The fight for Europa League football may be over, but that shouldn’t stop Everton from going all out against Tottenham. Taking on a tired Spurs side, who created history midweek, it’s a good opportunity to add to the great results they’ve gotten against the Premier League elite this season.
Marco Silva, however, will be well aware that after the midweek heroics from the home team, this will still be a hard game for the Toffees.
There’s no doubt changes will be made for this game and Silva will have an idea on how he wants to arrive at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium and set up to create a real upset.
So just how do you tackle this inspired Spurs side?
Drop Morgan Schneiderlin
The best way to go later today may just be to attack what will be a tired Tottenham defence, unfortunate news if you’re Morgan Schneiderlin. The 29-year-old defensive midfielder may find himself on the bench to ensure that Silva can change up his formation and go that bit more attacking and unsettle Tottenham.
There’s no doubt that should Everton accomplish their task and be winning with a portion of the game to go, the French midfielder may be the best person to come on and steady the defensive side of the midfield.
Start Ademola Lookman
Looking to build on his cameo appearance against Burnley last week, Lookman, who is valued at £18 million (as per Transfermarkt), will no doubt be itching to start against Spurs later today. If Silva is to attack the defence of the north London club, the 21-year-old could be the perfect person to really unsettle an already shaky Kieran Trippier.
Marco Silva has the positive of that it is the last game of the season and he can send his side out to just enjoy their football, and produce football to that of their 4-0 domination over Manchester United.
