What a season it could end up being for Manchester City! While at one point it looked like an impossible task, Pep Guardiola and his men are now just a win away from winning a successive Premier League title.
After a hard-fought battle with Liverpool, the Spaniard will no doubt be happier with this season if his side are to lift the trophy over that of the centurion campaign last year.
With the FA Cup final around the corner, though, Guardiola may contemplate on making changes so that certain players are fit for the Wembley showpiece.
And if so, here’s a couple of decisions we feel he should make. Not just for rotation purposes, but also to win the game.
Give Ilkay Gündogan a breather
Despite how important the German midfielder has been for Guardiola this season, especially with the continued absence of Kevin De Bruyne, we began to see him fade away and allow the game to pass him by against Leicester on Monday night.
The 28-year-old has been a revelation for the Citizens this term however, for the game later today it may be best for Guardiola to change his system and move Bernardo Silva back into the midfield instead of Gündogan, which would allow his attacking compatriot Sane to come into the side.
Start Leroy Sane
Leroy Sane, who is valued at £90 million (as per Transfermarkt), has been the unsung hero for Manchester City in recent weeks, in the last few games City have struggled to open up teams especially against Burnley and Leicester. However, when Sane finally gets introduced into the game, their attacking play goes up a level and the 23-year-old finds himself a lot of space.
The inclusion of Leroy Sane from the start may just be the key to dominating the scoreline from early on in games just like they did at the start of the season.
