Matt Doherty’s injury is not a serious one and he’ll be in contention for Bournemouth clash

Wolves managed to get the better of Bristol City in what was a rather nervy encounter at Ashton Gate yesterday, which has booked them a place in the quarter-final of the FA Cup.

The Midlands club have been extremely impressive in recent times as they continue to impress under Nuno Espirito Santo, with a European spot well within their sights. And, supporters received a huge boost on the transfer front recently, as according to Birmingham Live, Matt Doherty’s injury is not serious and he’ll be in contention for Bournemouth clash.

Doherty was one of the standout performers for Wolves in the first-half at Ashton Gate yesterday as he provided the assist for Ivan Cavaleiro’s goal and hit the post.

However, his afternoon was rounded off when he was forced off the field of play with around ten minutes to go after picking up a knock.

But, it is believed that the injury sustained is not a serious one and that he will be in contention for Wolves next Premier League fixture against Bournemouth.

THE VERDICT:

Matt Doherty has been simply sensational for Wolves in the current campaign as he continues to cause all sorts of problems for the opposition down the right-hand side.

It comes as a huge boost that the Irishman is in contention for Wolves’ next game and that his injury isn’t serious, as he’s a vital part of how Wolves operate under Nuno Santo.
