Tottenham Hotspur were beaten 1-0 by Manchester United at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The defeat will have dealt a blow to their Premier League title challenge, whilst it was Son Heung-min’s last game before he teamed up with South Korea for the Asia Cup.
However, Mauricio Pochettino has revealed he may have been handed a ‘massive’ blow following the final whistle.
Quoted by The Daily Mirror, the Argentine has revealed that Harry Kane has some swelling on his ankle after a tackle he received from Victor Lindelof in the final moments of the game.
“My worry is that it was a bad tackle in the last moment,” he said.
“It wasn’t the intention of the United player but it was a bad tackle and now he has bit of a swelling on his ankle and he was limping after the game.
“We are going to lose Son for the Asia Cup and if Harry Kane suffers an injury, it is going to be massive for us.”
There will be a number of concerned and anxious figures at Tottenham following the update Pochettino has provided about Kane.
The striker is one of Spurs’ top stars and has been hugely influential for the club over the last few seasons as they look to continue their title aspirations.
With Son’s absence, Kane’s potential injury will not have come at a worse time and many will be hoping it is not as serious as first feared.
