Mauricio Pochettino may have dropped big hint about January plans

Tottenham Hotspur will want to make additions in the January transfer window, otherwise, they will go a whole campaign without signing a new player.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side are playing well, however, they will need to freshen up the squad with new bodies if they are to continue their charge, especially given how many injuries they have already had.

And, according to a report by The Guardian, it appears as though the Argentine manager could give fans a ‘big surprise’ in January.

Spurs’ chief scout, Steve Hitchin, was at Anfield for the Merseyside derby on Sunday and the question was put to him as to why he was in attendance.

“Be careful,” Pochettino answered, with a smile on his face. “There is maybe a big surprise in January.”

The Verdict:

Although it is a comment that can be read into however you want, it could be the biggest hint that the Tottenham manager has dropped about possible transfer activity.

It remains unclear if Spurs will look to take anyone from either Everton or Liverpool, however, the remark could get some fans excited about their potential January transfer business.

Daniel Levy and Pochettino will likely be working overtime in the winter though, as they will not want to go a full season without adding depth and quality to their side.
