Tottenham Hotspur are yet to make a summer signing during the transfer window, however, it appears one man does not have a future at White Hart Lane.
Mauricio Pochettino is keen to add to his squad as he looks to make improvements to his side ahead of the upcoming Premier League campaign and Spurs will want to be competitive across all the competitions they are involved in.
One area of the field that the Argentine is thought to be keen on strengthening is at the top of the pitch, with Harry Kane having to be heavily relied upon to get the goals.
The club do also have Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen on their books, however, it appears that one of those men do not have a future at the club, with Pochettino pretty much confirming the news.
Pochettino all but confirmed that the player was not part of his plans when asked why the 24-year-old had not travelled with the squad to America for their pre-season tour.
“I think it’s different personal situations for different players,” he told the Daily Mail.
“The situation for Vincent is clear but Josh (Onomah) is part of our plans. He’s injured and doing his recovery with Harry Winks, that’s why he’s not here.”
Janssen has never really got going following his breakout season with AZ Alkmaar and has struggled to make the impact everybody desired.
He joined Spurs in 2016 for a fee of £17million and that looked to weigh heavily on his shoulders during his debut year, as he managed to score just twice.
He was sent on loan to Fenerbahce last season and struggled to find his shooting boots there, however, the Turkish outfit are keen to take him back on another temporary arrangement but Tottenham are thought to want a permanent deal.
