Tottenham leapfrogged Chelsea to third in the Premier League table following a memorable 3-1 win against their London rivals.

The Lilywhites made a blistering start to the affair, taking the lead after just eight minutes as Dele Alli flicked home Christian Eriksen’s cross. Only eight minutes later, Harry Kane doubled their advantage from long-range, a strike that left Kepa Arrizabalaga helpless. Son Heung-Min made in three after the interval and meant Olivier Giroud’s goal was little more than a consolation.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men inflicted Chelsea’s first defeat of the Premier League season which will give them a lot of confidence after back-to-back losses prior to the international break. There is still plenty of work to be done to catch the league leaders starting with the upcoming January transfer window. After not signing a single player in the summer, Pochettino should have some funds to play with.

One man who should remain on his shortlist is Manchester United winger, Anthony Martial. Valued at £54m by Transfermarkt, the Frenchman faces an uncertain future at the club with less than one year remaining on his current deal with the Red Devils. Martial has failed to fully convince Jose Mourinho of his abilities but he has managed to net six Premier League goals so far this season. With United languishing in mid-table, the 22-year-old could be tempted to leave for their Premier League rivals.

On his day, the ex-Monaco man is unstoppable and has shown glimpses of his immense talent at times this season. In a system that suits him, Martial is a nightmare for defenders and working in Pochettino’s 4-2-3-1 formation would do wonders his development. Alongside Kane and Eriksen in the attack, Martial would be scoring for fun.

Under the Argentine’s guidance, the sky is the limit for the youngster who was once tipped to be a future Ballon d’Or winner. United’s loss can be Tottenham’s significant gain if Martial opts to leave Old Trafford.
