‘Maybe Toby is off’, ‘Sell him’ – Tottenham fans on Twitter react to club’s update

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern were delighted with their side’s result against Everton on Saturday evening.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side continued their excellent run of form of late with an emphatic victory over Everton at Wembley Stadium. Once again, Harry Kane stole the headlines with two second-half goals to make him Tottenham’s all-time leading goalscorer in the Premier League at the age of just 24. As long as Kane is not persuaded by offers from outside the club in the coming years, he will surely go on to smash that record and cement his reputation as one of Tottenham’s greatest every players.

Defensively, Tottenham looked solid and composed all afternoon with Vertonghen and Sanchez at the heart of the defensive unit.

The 20-year-old central defender has previously made 4 appearances for The Lilywhites in domestic cup competitions, but he has yet to make a Premier League appearance for the club.

Plenty of the Tottenham fans on Twitter are sceptical about Carter-Vickers’ ability to settle into the first-team considering his limited experience, and a handful of other supporters are worried that his return spells the end of Alderweireld’s career in North-London.

Here’s what the Spurs faitfhul had to say about the return of Carter-Vickers…
