Aston Villa are looking to strengthen their forward line with a move for Fulham’s Bobby Zamora, according to the Mirror.
Villa boss Alex McLeish is aware that he can’t just rely on the goalscoring of current striker Darren Bent and has identified Zamora, 30, as a January target.
Fulham left Zamora out of the squad that fell to defeat at Swansea City over the weekend as speculation grows that manager Martin Jol isn’t the player’s biggest fan.
Zamora has scored five times in 22 outings for Fulham this season.
How likely is this to actually happen? Zamora is a realist and has resisted making a move away from The Cottage up until now as he clearly knows he’s at a club that suits him well. Fulham are having another unremarkable season, but it’s difficult to see Bobby bailing.
