Stade Rennes midfield powerhouse Yann M’Vila has caused a stir in France by admitting during an interview with l’equipe that he regularly watches the English Premier League and it would be the most suited to his style of play.
M’Vila, 20, has been courted by a host of top European clubs over the past 2 transfer windows and many expect a move to the Barclays Premiership to materialise sooner rather than later. Not a day goes by without the 5 cap superstar being linked with a move away from the Route de Lorient to our shores.
He did add though that he would not be interested in leaving France to sit on the bench at a big Premier League side.
“Which league do I watch on TV? The Premier League!” M’Vila told L’Equipe. “It matches my game.
“It is a warrior’s game, where you have to show plenty of fighting spirit.
“I like to watch Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, but also Manchester City. I’m a big fan of the English state of mind and tackling.”
“You can’t leave for a big club to be a substitute,” he said. “I prefer to stay at my club to improve. I want to work more on the attacking aspect of my game — scoring and assisting.”
Liverpool had allegedly been made favourites to secure the £15 million rated player’s signature but, they will of course have to fight off interest moneybags Manchester City who will no doubt be looking to bolster their already impressive squad in January.
It would seem that the club who can offer M’Vila first team football will be his likely destination if a transfer were to materialise.
