Eden Hazard is a name that has done the rounds of every transfer gossip column over the last couple of years.  There has been numerous reports regarding his future in Ligue A in France and whether he will be making a much anticipated move to a European giant.  It now appears that Lille are considering selling the much sought after Belgian after they put a £21million price-tag on the head of the exciting prospect.

Hazard came through various academies in Belgium before he was picked up by French side Lille in 2005 where he joined their youth side.  He signed a professional contract in May 2007 and was promoted to the senior squad for the 07/08 season.  He made 4 appearances that term and continued to turn out for the sides reserve team as well.

It was during the 2008/2009 season that the winger became a full member of the first team squad and during that year he made 35 appearances in all competitions, scoring 6 goals and laying on 3.

There was much speculation at the end of that year linking him with big moves away from the club, Arsenal, Manchester United, Inter Milan, Barcelona and Real Madrid were all linked to the tricky wide man but the player stated that he wanted to stay in France and continue his career under their guidance.  That season Hazard was first exposed to European football and he had his most successful season to date playing in over 50 games and scoring 10 goals.

After more speculation again last Summer regarding the players future and many stories claiming he was on the move, the club eventually spurned all the advances and he has stayed for another season and is once again proving to be a fine player but it would now appear that his time in France is coming to an end with teams ready to make firm offers for the 20 year old.

According to TuttomercataWEB, Lille are ready to listen to offers for the player and it appears that England is the most likely destination with Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United leading the way.  Arsenal and Manchester United have a great record with young players and both would be a good fit for Hazard, I think he would be more likely to get games at one of those two as opposed to Chelsea where he may struggle for appearances because of the fight for starting spaces if there is to be anything big spending Summer at Stamford Bridge.

The player looks to be developing into a fantastic footballer, he can play on either wing as well as through the middle, he is extremely quick, very creative and has excellent technical ability.  He has often been compared too Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi and in terms of wingers I am not sure there is much higher praise than that.  It may be a lot of money for a relatively unproven player but if this one comes off someone will have a great player on their hands and I for one believe that he has every chance of succeeding in the Premier League.
