Ola Toivonen, the PSV striker, has snubbed the Premiership in a puzzling turn of events.
Following a summer of transfer speculation, the 24-year old who looked set to move to the Premiership, has said no to both Roy Hodgson and Harry Redknapp, citing the audacious reason that the most important thing is that I “play in a team that has the chance to win the league”.
Does Toivonen know something that we don’t? Or is he right in his prediction? Or is it just a matter of a player being unusually loyal?
Harry Redknapp would probably say that he doesn’t know what he’s missing out on…
