Newly promoted Middlesbrough are hopeful of chancing their ambitious arm with a move for Liverpool central defender Martin Skrtel this summer, according to the Daily Star, via The Sun.
The Slovakian will travel to Euro 2016 this summer where they will take on England in the group stages of the competition, with the defender’s future set to be resolved once he returns from the tournament.
According to the Liverpool contingent here in the Transfer Tavern, it wouldn’t be an overly bad thing if the defender was kept on with some of the supporters feeling that he still has something to offer the club.
Middlesbrough however are hopeful of snaring the player north to the Riverside Stadium and are preparing a £6 million move for the 31-year-old, who has been at Liverpool since 2008.
One Middlesbrough fan has overheard this news whilst waiting to be served at the bar and he thinks that the player would be a superb addition for the club, stating he would be a real coup for Boro.
Liverpool fans, does Skrtel still have something to offer? Would he be sorely missed should he depart the club?
