Middlesbrough weighing up move for former Premier League man

The Middlesbrough fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern, are discussing reports linking the club with a move for a former Manchester United defender.

According to ESPN, the newly promoted Premier League side are weighing up whether or not to make an offer for Cardiff City full back Fabio.

The 26-year-old is entering the final year of his contract and it is thought the Welsh side could be willing to cash in on the player now, rather than risk losing the player for free at the end of the upcoming season.

Aitor Karanka is looking to bolster his options at the back and sees the versatile player as someone who will add to the squad that he has built so far this summer.

Fabio joined Cardiff back in January 2014 after failing to achieve as many first team starts for Man United, as he would have liked and has gone on from strength to strength during his time at the club.

Our landlord thinks this could be an astute signing for Karanka’s men, especially if signed for a minimal fee!
