The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern are beginning to lose hope that Jack Wilshere will make it at the club…
The Englishman has always been touted as England’s most talented young star, but his potential has failed to materialise in recent years, and a loan to Bournemouth has done very little to convince the Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern that he is ready.
It isn’t just the fans that are losing hope of an Arsenal career for Wilshere, though, with the Times reporting that the midfielder himself is worried that his time at the Emirates could be running out. Significantly, it is noted that planned talks over a new deal have as of yet failed to materialise, leaving his future looking increasingly uncertain.
Of course, this situation is worsened by the fact that Wilshere has yet to really establish himself in the Arsenal first team, and so he has very little in terms of power when it comes to negotiating a new deal.
That being said, our landlord thinks that it makes sense for Arsenal to give him a new contract. If for nothing else, it will allow them to garner a larger fee should they decide to sell him down the road.
