Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern enjoyed a decent end to the Premier League season yesterday in their re-arranged clash with Bournemouth, with a 3-1 victory drawing the curtain on a frustrating season.
There’s likely to be vast changes at Old Trafford this summer and one midfielder has dropped a major hint that he could be leaving the club, as The Telegraph states Michael Carrick’s symbolic gesture at the end of the game suggests he will leave United this summer.
Carrick has not been offered an extension to his contract at United and is likely to leave after a decade of service to the Red Devils, with both his children accompanying him onto the field last night as mascots for the game.
Reports suggest this was Carrick’s plan for a farewell to the supporters and the club’s second-longest player, after Wayne Rooney, will seek a new venture this summer and end his long association with the Red Devils.
Our landlord feels it’s the right time for Carrick to move on but feels he still has a lot to offer and could be of great service to another Premier League side.
