Mido to walk like an Egyptian to Hull?

Mido hopes to silence critics

Egyptian striker Mido is apparently on the brink of joining Hull on loan from Middlesbrough until the end of the season. The 26 year old international is currently still registered at the Riverside but is reported to have flown in for talks with the Tigers on Monday in the hope of pushing the deal through. Hull boss Phil Brown hopes linking up with fellow countryman Amr Zaki at the KC Stadium will reignite his form.

Mido, whose former clubs have included Tottenham, Roma and Ajax, has been playing on loan at Egyptian club El Zamalek after an unsuccessful spell at Wigan last year, but has so far failed to find his form with only 1 goal in 15 appearances.

The striker is reported to have told Egyptian channel Modern Sport:

“I’m 90 per cent certain that I will leave Zamalek before the closure of the transfer window,

Hull have been talking to me for a month now and another English club, who I can not name at the moment, are also interested.”

Who this other club are remains a mystery, or possibly even a figment of his agents imagination, but Mido seemed keen on them. by adding:

“This club, who have a great history, lie in the top half of the table and will table an official bid to sign me within two or three days.”

The Daily Mail reports that chairman Adam Pearson may try and offset his wages by loaning out Kevin Kilbane, who is wanted by both Celtic and Sheffield United.

However Pearson was quoted in the Daily Star last week as saying:

“We got offered the chance to sign him but we have decided he is not someone we want to pursue.”

Is Pearson simply playing hard to get? Is Mido trying to angle for a better deal elsewhere? Who are this mystery other club? Is he really still only 26?

Is there any substance to this and should this rumour Fly or Die?
