Newcastle United appear to be on the verge of completing a deal that would see a new face arrive at St. James’ Park in January.
The Magpies have been linked with a move for Atlanta United’s Miguel Almiron for a little while now and it would seem he could be donning the famous black-and-white stripes in the very near future.
According to Roberto Rojas, a deal to take the midfielder from the MLS to the Premier League is done, with just a few details left to complete.
Hearing from sources that Atlanta United midfielder Miguel Almiron to Newcastle United is a done deal. There are a few things left to be done but probably will join in the winter transfer window. Possibly a loan deal with an option to buy of around £15m at the end of the season.

It is understood the Paraguay international will join Rafa Benitez’s side on an initial loan deal to the end of the season, with an option to purchase for around £15million.
Almiron has impressed for Atlanta, scoring 13 goals and providing 11 assists that saw him earn recognition from clubs around the world and saw his performances in the MLS name him as this year’s runner-up for the MVP award.
Getting a deal completed for Almiron will be exciting news for those at Newcastle, as they continue to go from strength-to-strength in recent weeks.
The attacking midfielder would be an excellent addition to the Magpies and he could be a real handful for a number of Premier League defences, with his ability in the final third.
An initial loan deal with the view to a permanent switch could also be a shrewd piece of business by Newcastle and Mike Ashley, as if Almiron does not hit the heights expected of him, they would be able to cut ties, but if he performs as well as many will hope he does, £15m could be a real steal.
