Newcastle haven’t had a great summer so far but it looks like the club could be about to welcome two new signings soon.
Newcastle have only brought in three players this summer as Mike Ashey looks buy on the cheap. Aside from Martin Dubravka, Mike Ashley has spent no money on any more permanent deals.
However, it seems the frugal owner might just be about to finally open his wallet as Newcastle have apparently sealed the deal for Mainz striker, Yoshinori Muto according to Chronicle reporter, Lee Ryder.

The Japan international will apparently join the club for £9.5 million and is seemingly the replacement for Mitrovic who could be on his way out of the club.
With Muto’s arrival, Newcastle are getting a striker who has scored 20 goals in 66 Bundesliga games since 2015. While it’s not a bad record, it’s not exactly the return the Toon faithful may have been looking for.
A frantic and tireless player, Muto’s work rate is going to endear himself to Newcastle fans although he may also at times frustrate them.
With the ball at his feet, he’s not exactly the most gifted player, however, the majority of his goals came from his ability to always find himself in the right place at the right time, which in itself is an underrated trait.
However, with only a year left on his contract, it seems Mike Ashley has been up to his old tricks again – looking for a bargain fee for a player that is very low risk.
It’s not the star striker Benitez probably wanted but it seems it’s the one he’ll have to use.
