Mike Ashley tells Peter Kenyon to make an offer

Newcastle United have had an abysmal start to their Premier League campaign as things on Tyneside continue to look bleak.

Mike Ashley, who has watched the club in the last two outings, is believed to want to sell the club and it is understood that there is interest.

Peter Kenyon, who was once the chief executive of Manchester United and Chelsea, is thought to be looking for investors and has approached the Magpies about a possible offer.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Ashley’s lawyers have told him to make one rather than be quoted with an asking price.

The Magpies are yet to have won a match in the competition, having picked up just two points from their first seven matches.

Rafa Benitez has appeared to be a frustrated figure when it comes down to things, whilst Ashley is not thought to have made anything easier for the Spaniard.

The Verdict:

Newcastle fans are desperate to see their club sold and get rid of Ashley, which was evident during their match against Leicester City.

They made their feelings heard around St. James’ Park throughout the game, which was his first one in 16-months.

However, it remains to be seen if Kenyon does return with an offer, although it appears unlikely at this stage.
