Mike Ashley vows not to sell Newcastle this season

Things at Newcastle United have been far from perfect for a long time with doubts about futures around the club coming to the forefront.

However, according to a report by the Daily Mail, it appears that the future of everyone involved could be resolved, including Mike Ashley’s.

It has been claimed that the current Newcastle owner has told the team that he will not sell the club this season amid speculation that a takeover bid could be on the table in the imminent future.

Ashley, who took the players and staff out for a meal, is thought to have told them not to be distracted by the talk and had stated that no one had ever come close to meeting his valuation, with some trying to steal the club at a knockdown price.

Newcastle fans have grown increasingly frustrated with the way the club is being run under the current owner and the news that he will not sell them this season will surely infuriate them more.

The Verdict:

The situation at Newcastle is starting to become more and more like a circus act, with no one wiser about what is going to happen.

The St James’ Park faithful are desperate for Ashley to sell the club and leave, but it appears they will not get their wish once again.

Should he not sell the team, the owner will need to invest and back Rafa Benitez financially in the transfer market to a significant extent, if they are to have any hope of retaining their Premier League status.
