Milan Weighing Up Arsenal Striker?

A rare sight

I’m sure Arsenal fans will want to keep quiet in response to this article, just in case Milan realise what a silly prospect this is.

If you haven’t figured it out already, it’s the very large possibility of Nicklas Bendtner leaving the Emriates in search of first team football come January with AC Milan a likely destination.

Milan are running out of striking options since veteran striker Flippo Inzaghi suffered a knee injury and may look to the Arsenal forward as a possible solution.

If I was an Arsenal fan, I’d be rubbing my hands together. He’s just not very good is he? Despite having a knack of scoring off his arse in the last minute for the Gunners, I’ve hardly ever been impressed.

The lad had a reasonable enough World Cup from what I saw, but one goal in the tournament hardly set it alight. Furthermore, despite a lack of opportunities at Arsenal he has only managed 21 goals for the club in 3 and a half years.

Maybe I’m being harsh on the lad. He’s not exactly terrible and he’s only 22, but for someone who misses as many sitters as Bendtner I’d expect him to be going to Fulham or Stoke not the heady heights of the San Siro.

I can’t see Milan being so silly to throw money at the Dane either, a January loan move may give him the opportunity to prove himself in Italy before any purchase could be made. The one problem I could see is Wenger’s lack of replacement if any injuries are sustained. Chamakh is certainly starting to come good, but with Robin Van Persie’s fitness issues and Carlos Vela’s inability to score when not playing in the Carling Cup; it really does beg the question of where Arsenal may look if Chamakh is out for the long term.

That said, if Milan offer anything like £10million I would snatch their hand off and look to bring in a replacement come the new year.
