The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern have been calling for this Lilywhite to be picking up the Golden Ball for his amazing performances at the World Cup this summer. Kieran Trippier has been one of the best performers in an impressive England team and his displays haven’t gone unnoticed.
A lot of our local Spurs fans have been watching on and are in agreement that it would be robbery to not give the 27-year-old the award. There are a couple of players who could stake a claim for the prestigious award, given to the best player at the World Cup. Philippe Coutinho, Luka Modric and Eden Hazard could all win the award, however, without Kieran Trippier there are no guarantees that England would be where they are.
The defender has played 280 minutes across three appearances in Russia this summer, only missing out on the group game against Belgium where Gareth Southgate rested eight of his regular eleven. In that time on the pitch Trippier has provided an assist, been superb at delivering set pieces, drawn comparisons to David Beckham and scored a penalty in the shootout win over Colombia, leading a lot of fans to admit that he deserves to win the greatest individual award on offer this summer.

Think Trippier would be a good shout for the Golden Ball. He’s been England’s best player this tournament and if England win the WC he deserves to win it
