Mario Balotelli has been subject of a fair bit of gossip here in the Football Transfer Tavern and the fact that the Daily Mail have linked the player with a £27 million move to Arsenal has not gone unnoticed.
The Italian international forward scored what turned out to be the winning goal against England in their opening Group D game of the World Cup.
Now it seems that not only has Arsene Wenger decided to take a £27 million chance on the AC Milan forward, but that his agent is hopeful of a move too.
Balotelli’s agent Mino Raiola claimed: “Arsenal are a fantastic club.”
He followed this by claiming that in terms of a move: “Anything is possible”.
Of course, some of our punters in the tavern are quite dubious over a potential move and we do not blame them, especially given the fact that Balotelli can be very hit and miss with his performances.
We think that Arsene Wenger really needs someone who is at the top of their game week in, week out, and certainly cannot afford to waste money on someone who is not!
Arsenal fans. Would you touch Balotelli with a barge-pole or is this a total disaster waiting to happen for Wenger? Let us know your thoughts below.
