Arsenal’s transfer business was conducted early in the transfer window but the club need to make a few more signings before the window closes in order to improve the squad.

While the five new players the club have brought in have all improved the squad, with the sales of Lucas Perez and Calum Chambers, Arsenal now need to find some replacements for the two of them.

Although Arsenal brought in former Borussia Dortmund defender, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, with Chambers on loan at Fulham and Laurent Koscielny out with an injury, the Gunners need someone to compete with Rob Holding and Shkodran Mustafi for the starting spot.

One player who has been constantly linked with Arsenal over the last few weeks, is Croatian defender Domagoj Vida.

According to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are unlikely to make a move for the Besiktas defender whom the Turkish club were demanding a £26.9 fee million for.

The Breakdown

The 29-year-old had a superb World Cup and was an important part of a team that reached the final.

The report states that Emery is happy with his defensive options, despite losing Chambers and wit Koscielny out until the New Year due to an achilles injury.

Mustafi is an incredibly unreliable defender and after a poor season with the club, it’s worrying that he will likely partner Sokratis for Arsenal’s game against Manchester City.

While the Gunners have addressed most of their weaknesses this window, the club might regret bringing in another top quality defender.

So Arsenal fans, are you happy with this Transfer update?
