‘Mo Salah and Eden Hazard show – Liverpool and Chelsea fans debate attackers’ influence

The Liverpool and Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern have been revelling in the performances of their star players Mo Salah and Eden Hazard following their 1-1 draw on Saturday evening.

The pre-match headlines before Liverpool hosted Chelsea at Anfield this weekend were dominated by Mo Salah after his blistering start to the season catapulted him to the top of the Premier League’s goal-socring charts. The fixture also saw Salah line-up against Chelsea for the first time since he left the club in 2016 following an unsuccessful spell at Stamford Bridge – a factor which further stimulated the media frenzy ahead of the game.

And Chelsea may have been feeling tinges of regret for allowing the electric Egyptian to leave the club last year in the 65th minute of proceedings after he slotted home Liverpool’s opener to break the deadlock on Merseyside.

However, Liverpool’s narrow lead proved too insignificant to lead to three points, as Eden Hazard turned provider for Willian to score an outrageous chip and ensure both sides would leave with a point a piece.

Throughout proceedings and following the aftermath of the game, plenty of praise was fired in the direction of Hazard and Salah.

There is no doubt that they are two of the Premier League’s most desirable stars right now and their performances captured the imagination of the onlookers who were full of admiration on Twitter.

Although the goal-scoring statistics suggest Salah is the more valuable of the two players right now, the supporters on Twitter were keen to place Hazard in the same bracket as the Egyptian following his eye-catching performance against The Reds.

Here’s what the fans had to say on Twitter…
