Arsenal suffer another blow ahead of Chelsea clash, but it isn’t all bad news

The Arsenal fans in the Transfer Tavern didn’t think that things could get any worse for Arsenal ahead of the weekend…

A host of players are already out of the game, most notably Laurent Koscielny through suspension, but according to the Telegraph, another player has now been added to their list of doubts. However, crucially, it is noted that the Gunners are still hopeful that he will be available to play – indicating that the Englishman’s injury is not serious.

Regardless of whether he plays or not this weekend, given the fact that he has spent much of the last week not training, Gibbs will undoubtedly not be at 100% for the game, potentially leaving Arsenal light in his position.

The update is the latest in a long line of issues for the Gunners, with their defensive woes likely to have a massive impact against Chelsea. With the likes of Mustafi and Koscielny both potentially unavailable, Arsene Wenger will need to bring out some magic to ensure that his side is strong at the back.

Chelsea, meanwhile, have been in fine form and have suffered relatively few injury problems this year – with the fans in the Transfer Tavern feeling very confident.
