Victor Moses has had a spectacular rise at Stamford Bridge, but the Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern think that it might be time for it to come to an end.
The Nigerian looked poor, especially towards the end of last season, after impressing during Chelsea’s first season under Antonio Conte. Playing on the right-hand side of the defence, the Nigerian lacked the defensive solidity and quality last season that made Chelsea’s team so resolute the year prior – and that was a problem for the club.
It won’t come as a surprise, then, to hear that some Chelsea fans are calling for him to be replaced.
We recently asked fans whether Chelsea should replace Moses with Southampton ace Cedric Soares. Soares has impressed in recent seasons at St Mary’s, having become a regular fixture of the first team. Displaying brilliant consistency and quality at the back, hee’s one of the Premier League’s finest options.
He’s a player that is evidently very popular among Chelsea fans, given that in a recent poll, a whopping 68% of Chelsea supporters have called for the Portuguese to replace Moses next season.
He’s rated at £13.5 million by Transfer Markt, and so he would represent a decent value option for the Blues, whilst he’s also proven in the Premier League.
A move for Soares would be a deal with very little risk for the Blues, and he’d be a decent upgrade on Moses too.
