Moshiri absolutely must reward Allardyce with this marquee Everton signing this summer

Everton fans here in the Tavern will be desperate to see a number of players join in the summer transfer window after a rather disappointing Premier League campaign.

Indeed, the Toffees will count themselves lucky after flirting with the possibility of relegation towards the start of the season, as Sam Allardyce managed to steer the sinking ship to safety. And, having seen a couple of dominant performances in recent times, many of our local Evertonians have now set their sights on European football next season.

Encouragingly, now that the season is finally over, Allardyce can now turn his attention to the summer transfer window as he may look to conduct a major overhaul after a rather woeful campaign.

So, having witnessed the hard work that the Englishman has put in since being appointed as the club’s new manager back in November of last year, Everton’s major shareholder Farhad Moshiri may look to reward him with a marquee signing.

With that in mind, here’s who our local punters think Moshiri should reward Allardyce with…

Xherdan Shaqiri

Stoke City will be playing their football in the Championship next season, so Xherdan Shaqiri may look to depart in the summer transfer window.

Encouragingly, the Swiss international popped up with a number of goals and assists this season as one of the Potters’ standout performers. And, having witnessed his quality since he signed for Stoke back in 2015, perhaps Everton should look to bring him to Goodison Park in the summer as a big-name signing.

So, with the likes of Yannick Bolasie and Theo Walcott already posing an attacking threat in the Toffees’ first-team squad, adding Xherdan Shaqiri to their ranks could take them to the next level and may launch them into European contention.
