Everton fans here in the Tavern will be looking forward to the summer transfer window, as they’ll need to bring in a few fresh faces before the start of next season.
Indeed, the Toffees will be delighted with how their season has panned out as they were flirting with the possibility of relegation at one point, but appointing Sam Allardyce helped steady the ship as he managed to secure them a top half finish. Although, it looks as if the Englishman’s efforts haven’t been good enough in the eyes of owner Farhad Moshiri, as according to Sun Sport, Everton are to sack Sam Allardyce in a matter of days.
Interestingly, it’s believed that Sam Allardyce is set to leave Everton in a matter of days, with Bill Kenwright’s position as chairman also under serious threat.
Majority owner Moshiri is set to launch an overhaul of the board and senior management to modernise their approach. And, this will begin with the departure of Allardyce who will be paid up on the remaining year of his contract, while his assistant Sammy Lee will also go as it’s understood that he has already told friends he is leaving.
Surprisingly, Moshiri isn’t wasting any time in finding a suitable replacement as his managerial search has already begun, with Marco Silva being the name on the players’ lips.
Supporters will be feeling slightly sorry for Sam Allardyce as it looks as if he will be relieved of his duties in the coming days. And, with Bill Kenwright’s position also under serious threat, many of our local Evertonians are hoping that these decisions don’t come back to bite them in the future.
