Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern endured a hectic period last week, as their FA Cup success was followed by a managerial shake-up that saw Jose Mourinho come into Old Trafford.
The Portuguese boss faces a major test to rebuild the Red Devils into one of England’s fiercest sides once again and it appears the former Chelsea manager has eyed a massive summer target, with a deal potentially working into his favour.
The Times states Mourinho is considering a move to bring Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford from Serie A giants Juventus, where the French international has developed into one of the most exciting players in world football.
Sir Alex Ferguson letting the youngster, now 23, leave the Premier League side during his youth days is widely regarded as the greatest mistake in the United icon’s long career with the Manchester giants- and Mourinho is looking to erase that disappointment.
Whilst many would see this transfer as unrealistic, especially considering United are without Champions League football next season, the Red Devils will be boosted by news that Pogba has been informally placed on the transfer list.
Still, our landlord believes a record-breaking fee would be required to land Pogba’s services and that his price-tag will only increase at this summer’s European Championships.
Will Pogba move to the Premier League this summer? Let us know in the comments below!
