Manchester United fans in the Transfer Tavern have been crying out for a high-profile signings ever since Jose Mourinho was appointed as their new manager last week and it seems the fans will get what they want.
The Daily Star states Mourinho is desperate for the Red Devils to sign Atletico Madrid’s wonderful young talent Saul Niguez this summer, after the 18-year-old put in scintillating performances for the Spanish giants throughout the course of the campaign.
Teenage superstar Niguez, who featured for Atletico in Saturday’s Champions League final defeat to arch-rivals Real Madrid, is rated as one of the best youngsters in world football and Mourinho is keen to bolster his ranks with the addition.
Mourinho already has the benefit of young talents such as Jesse Lingard, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford next season, with the latter still a teenager, but if he is to add Saul Niguez to his contingent he may have to match the player’s astonishing £54m release-clause.
Our landlord feels it could be all change at the Vicente Calderon this summer though, as he believes Diego Simeone could seek a new challenge.
