Mourinho goes on charm offensive as Man Utd plan talks over summer move for 24-year-old

There is nothing that the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern want more than the signing of Alvaro Morata this summer…

It isn’t just the fans that are desperate for the move, though, as Jose Mourinho also seems desperate to get the deal done. According to Marca, Mourinho has gone on a charm offensive as he looks to get the deal over the line, reportedly telling the Spaniard – among other things – that he will be an important player in a team that is looking to make a real impact in England next season. Significantly, talks are said to be planned over a move today (Monday), and so Man Utd look to be edging closer to this deal.

Mourinho’s method of capturing players has so often worked in the past, with the Portuguese’s charm and flattery tempting more than a few players into playing under him in the past.

For Morata, there is certainly a need for Mourinho to work his magic, not least because his signing is absolutely crucial for the Red Devils this summer. Man Utd struggled going forward last season, even with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and with 15 goals in La Liga under difficult circumstances last season, Morata can certainly look to change that.

Significantly, Morata’s signing would represent Man Utd’s first move in to improving their attacking line, with their only other significant move coming in defence – with the club having agreed a fee for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
