Manchester United fans have had to endure a rollercoaster season at the hands of Louis Van Gaal and the saga concerning the Dutchman’s future is putting the fans in the Transfer Tavern on course for another adrenaline-pumping ride.
Whilst many in the bar want Jose Mourinho to take over, there is still no official word from United that the former Chelsea boss will come in this summer. However, that hasn’t stopped the wealth of stories flooding the back pages.
The Telegraph says Jose Mourinho has identified Atletico Madrid’s Sporting Director Andrea Berta to Old Trafford, if he is named Manchester United boss, as part of his vision to improve the Red Devils.
Berta has been a crucial figure in Atletico’s rise to becoming a European powerhouse and he holds a strong relationship with super-agent Jorge Mendes, who acts on behalf of Mourinho himself.
Mourinho wants Berta to act as Director of Football at United, a position which the Red Devils have been reluctant to place someone in up until now and there’s no indication their stance will change.
Our landlord though thinks it’s a brilliant idea, stating Mourinho’s transfer record cannot be trusted.
United fans, does Mourinho need help from above at United? Let us know in the comments below!
