Mourinho looking to add some quality to his attack, £15.3m-rated winger could arrive this month – report

The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are hopeful of at least one major acquisition this month. The Red Devils have stumbled on occasion this season, but they remain in the mix at the top of the Premier League table. They clearly need to close the gap, though, with Man City evidently a better side at present.

Jose Mourinho, then, will be keen to bring a few players in this month, and one player that, according to the Bleacher Report, could join is attacking midfielder Malcom. Mourinho is said to be keen to improve the right-side of his attack over the next few weeks, and sources have told Dean Jones that an expectation is growing that he could move to Old Trafford soon.

Man Utd, for all of their attacking firepower, have struggled to score on occasion this season, and so its easy to see why Malcom might be an intended target. Romelu Lukaku has often lacked service, with key men like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and even Marcus Rashford failing to come through with solid performances regularly.

For his part, the Brazilian is an expert on the right-hand side of the attack, offering pace, quality in front of goal, and that famous Brazilian technique that has often been so effective in the Premier League.

He’s rated at £15.3 million by Transfer Markt, but in reality, his current club, Bordeaux, would likely demand far beyond that number given the current economic climate. Still, Man Utd don’t seem deterred.

Landlord’s Verdict

Malcom won’t be a cheap signing, but he’d be worth every penny.

He brings that flair that Man Utd have lacked this season, whilst also offering Mourinho another option on the right-hand side.

Man Utd need to bring in more quality to bridge the gap between them and Man City, and this would be a good place to start.
