The Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are eager to see what plans Jose Mourinho has for the future of the club…
The manager looks ready to take on a prolonged stint at the helm, having signed a number of young talents in recent years.
The likes of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, though brought in for an immediate impact, were undoubtedly signed with the future in mind, and that bodes well for the long-term prospects of the club.
It doesn’t appear as though Man Utd are quite done with their task of building for the future, though, with another teenager reportedly on Jose Mourinho’s watchlist.
According to Transfer Market Web, Mirko Antonucci of AS Roma is a target for the Red Devils, with the club one of a number of teams said to be keen on a potential move.
Antonucci is a winger that has featured for the Italian Under-18 side, having yet to make the step up to the senior team.
He has also yet to feature in the first team for AS Roma in a competitive fixture, though he was involved during their pre-season campaign. A tricky winger, he certainly has a bright future ahead of him, and Man Utd seemingly would like to be the benefactors of his talent.
Jose Mourinho is definitely building a side for the present, but he always has an eye on the future.
Though he is relatively unproven, Antonucci is a big talent, and given that his contract expires next summer, perhaps the Red Devils could snag a bargain.
Roma will likely want to extend his deal, though, so it won’t be easy.
