The Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are pleased to have landed the deal for Victor Lindelof, however, they move quickly and are now pining for more from Jose Mouinho.
While the saga surrounding links with Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata rumble on, it seems a deal going the other way has reared it’s head again.
According to reports from The Daily Star, the Champions League winners have brought shot-stopper back onto the table, after it seemed that talk around the Spaniard making the move away from Old Trafford had died down. However, Mourinho isn’t being moved easily on this one.
The tabloid claim that the former Chelsea and Porto manager has valued his goalkeeper, and three time United Player of the Season, at a staggering £100m, or is offering the alternative of £45m and Morata.
Should Madrid be mad enough to fork out such a fee for De Gea, it would smash the £89m the Red Devils paid out for, however, our landlord has rather quickly pointed out that there is almost no chance they’d ever part with such a sum for a ‘keeper.
United fans, we want to hear from you! Will you be able to keep hold of De Gea? Let us know in the comments below…
