Mourinho reportedly keen on 15-goal forward as Man Utd consider summer move

For the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern, signing a new forward this summer is absolutely essential…

With Zlatan Ibrahimovic seemingly set for the exit door, and Wayne Rooney largely displaced as a number 9, the Red Devils are left with just Marcus Rashford at present, and that is not enough for Mourinho to compete.

The Portuguese¬†appears to have found a list of potential summer striking targets, though, and according to Goal – Werder Bremen forward Max Kruse is reportedly on his radar. Goal is reporting that Man Utd have a number of offensive targets that they are considering this summer, and the fine form of Kruse for the German outfit has seemingly caught Mourinho’s attention.

That is no real surprise, of course, given that he has bagged an impressive 15 goals in just 23 appearances in the Bundesliga over the last year. Equally adept at setting up his teammates, though, the 7 assists that he made over the course of the 2016/17 campaign indicate that he has more qualities than just being a good finisher.

At 29-years-old, he may not be the long-term solution that a few of the Man Utd fans in the Transfer Tavern are craving, but he could be just the ticket for Man Utd. With Marcus Rashford still developing, Man Utd desperately need a player that can assist the Englishman as he continues to grow, whilst also not taking away from the regular game time that he needs. Kruse, then, could be perfect.
