Mourinho set to benefit from Guardiola deal

The Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are eagerly awaiting to see the side manager Jose Mourinho will shape over the next few weeks, but that doesn’t just mean new signings, there will have to be players leaving as well.

Across Manchester and rivals City are supposedly on the verge of landing former Barcelona defender Dani Alves from Champions League finalists Juventus, however, it could end with Mourinho getting a nice deal as well.

The former Chelsea boss has been looking to overhaul his defence this summer and, according to reports from Goal, the Italian champions could take right-back Matteo Darmian off United’s hands as a replacement for Etihad-bound Alves.

The Italian international, while showing flashes of being a top option for Mourinho, has never really nailed down a place in the Special One’s first team plans and thus could well be on his way this summer.

Our landlord reckons that this could be a deal which works for everyone. Juventus get their first target to replace Alves while Mourinho is afforded the space to bring in his own choice of right-back.

United fans, we want to hear from you! Does this one work for all involved? Is Darmian good enough for your club? Let us know…
