This is what the Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been waiting for…
The Man Utd fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been very critical of Jose Mourinho over the last week.
Their furor came to a climax following United’s defeat to Watford at the weekend, which became Mourinho’s third consecutive defeat at the helm.
It would then get worse for the Portuguese boss, with his public criticism of his players drawing the ire of a number of the United fans in the Tavern; whilst the Chelsea faithful sat alongside them with smug faces.
However, amidst the anger and resentment – the actions of Mourinho look set to bring at least a small smile to the faces of the United faithful in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The United fans in attendance have long called for Wayne Rooney’s Old Trafford departure, following a prolonged dry spell with the club; something which has only gotten worse this season under Mourinho.
And now, according to the Sun, Jose Mourinho is set to axe the English forward ahead of United’s crunch clash with Premier League champions Leicester at the weekend.
This news will delight the United faithful in the Tavern, with one United fan by the bar proclaiming that Rooney’s departure from the first team setup will allow Mourinho’s men to finally shift into gear.
Whilst our landlord doesn’t think it will be that simple; he does think that Mourinho would be right to drop Rooney after a string of awful performances.
United fans – what do you think about Mourinho? Pleased with his actions? What about Rooney?
