Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are gearing up for an exciting summer as manager Jose Mourinho looks to put together a side ready to kick on from his first season in charge.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager, despite winning both the EFL Cup and Europa League, failed to make any real impact on the Premier League, something which he will be desperate to address next time around.
In order to be competitive both at home and abroad the Portuguese will need to bring in some big name signings and, with that in mind, reports from Italian journalist from Fabrizio Romano, known for his work with both Sky Sports and The Guardian, are suggesting that they are pressing to land Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic.
Romano claims that the Red Devils have seen a €40m offer snubbed by the Italian giants, who have come back and told them it could take up to €60m (around £53m) if they are to entertain a deal, more than twice the 28-year-old’s £25.5m valuation.
Our landlord has been more than impressed with the Croatian winger, who bagged 11 goals and as many assists in Serie A, despite Inter’s struggling season.
United fans, we want to know what you’re thinking! Do you think Mourinho should meet Inter’s demands? Let us know below…
