According to the Mirror, quoting from MUTV, Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has stated that he would like to sign two more players during this summer transfer window.

Despite having already signed the Brazilian midfielder Fred, teenaged full-back Diogo Dalot, and veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant so far this summer, Mourinho still wants to see some further additions made to his squad.

One of those potential acquisitions is likely to be a centre-back, with the Red Devils having already been linked with a host of big name defenders throughout this transfer window. Elsewhere, there are arguments for the need of additions in the full-back areas and in the forward ranks.

With Mourinho stating that he considers only two more signings necessary to complete his squad, he’ll have to make sure those purchases count.

Pavard showed during this summer’s World Cup in Russia that he is ready to play at the highest level of the game. A move from his current club, Stuttgart, to Old Trafford, would give him the opportunity to play at the very top of the European game on a regular basis.

At only 22-years-old, Pavard already displays outstanding discipline and versatility. His arrival would give Mourinho cover for both the centre-back berths and the right full-back position.

Transfermarkt value the French World Cup winner at £36 million, which would be money well spent on United’s part.

Despite the Colombian’s quality, there isn’t an obvious opening for him in the Real Madrid set up, which is why the 27-year-old is plying his trade on loan with Bayern Munich.

Due to the German club’s own option for purchasing the attacking midfielder, it would take a huge offer on the behalf of United to bring James to the Premier League this summer.

However, stumping up that cash would be worth it, as the midfielder would transform Mourinho’s attack. As both an arch-creator and potent goal threat, capable of operating centrally or on either flank, James represents the creative force that the Red Devils are currently lacking.

James Rodriguez is valued at £72 million by Transfermarkt, meaning it would take a spectacular bit of business for United to make him theirs.
