The Man United fans in the Transfer Tavern don’t seem too happy with the latest negotiations in the Ivan Perisic deal.
According to reports from Calciomercato via the Daily Star, French winger Anthony Martial has agreed to join Inter Milan in a deal that would see Ivan Perisic go the other way.
The reports suggest Martial is open to the move but despite this, the landlord doesn’t think the club should let him go.
Although it would only be a loan move, once Martial gets a taste of first team football again he won’t be content settling back in on the United bench.
Despite having a tough first few years in Manchester, Martial is still one of the most talented youngsters in Europe and has proven his abilities during a fantastic pre-season this year.
Seven years younger than Perisic, the 21-year-old has still got plenty of time to improve his game and become a key player in the United set-up.
At best, Mourinho will probably get three to four good years out of the Croatian international before he begins to slow down a bit.
Is a potential three to four years enough to warrant letting go one of the brightest prospects in world football?
Mourinho needs to be patient with this one, if he can find a way to bring in Perisic without sending Martial to Italy then by all means sign him.
If that isn’t possible, then it doesn’t seem worth it.
