However, for one of the Lilywhites key men, it’s been a season to forget in the white shirt of Tottenham Hotspur. Danny Rose has been on the crushing end of a ligament injury that saw the left-back sideline from January through to October of this year.
Having returned to the fold, the England international has struggled to force his way into the side with defender Ben Davies being a preferred option by Pochettino, after already having a chip on his shoulder due to the lack of game time, it was made worse when the Argentine snubbed any chance of a North London Derby fixture by leaving him out of the side.
After Rose was linked with a switch to Premier League giants Manchester United in January, reports in the HITC have claimed that Luke Shaw could be about to take a pay cut in order to head the other way, in a deal that would send him as a replacement for Danny Rose.
Indeed, due to struggling to gain any game time at left-back since his return from injury, a move away from Manchester is much needed if he is to reignite his quest for first team football and a return to action for the Three Lions.
