Moyes calls for patience

David MoyesThe Metro has certainly got Manchester United fans looking up from their pints with the latest quotes from David Moyes who asks the club’s fans to be patient over a lack of summer signings.

The new manager has noted that whilst the summer may not have gone exactly as he planned it too, there is no need to panic and there could well be some top names on the way. He noted that ‘If you win one game folks will think you are good. If you lose one folks will think you are rubbish.

‘You hope there is a little bit of sense and people understand where you’re going. It is a big job, a new job. It will take time, as it would for anybody else.’

Not only does Moyes have to step into the shoes of former club legend Alex Ferguson, but he also has to worry about the future of some of his current players, with Wayne Rooney of course looking towards the exit door and also the issue of Nani’s future at the club to be resolved.

Moyes also spoke out about the current big spending sides in Ligue 1 where he has of course seen both Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani end up and also former United target James Rodriguez. He did not seem particularly bothered and quipped

‘That is not something Manchester United are frightened of.’

‘Manchester United are more than happy to compete with all of the teams. This club will always compete. One thing it has got is the history. It has got the name. It has the success. That is a big pull for any player.’
