Here in the Football Transfer Tavern, our punters are looking up at the latest claim from Metro, who seem to be under the impression that Rio Ferdinand is set for a stay at Old Trafford.
As one of our punters moves away from the pool table and asks exactly why the publication have come to this conclusion, it becomes clear that this is entirely down to David Moyes.
The most popular manager at the club, for everyone outside of the red half of Manchester, has claimed that Rio Ferdinand will not be retiring at the end of the season, and reports that he is also set to jump from the sinking ship are false.
The former Everton boss claimed: ‘I can only tell you what was written was a load of rubbish.
One of our regulars notes that the only thing we think qualifies as ‘a load of rubbish’ has been the form of the Champions since Moyes took over, and the fact that Moyes seems totally unaware of what to do. Drawing against the bottom side in the league would have been unthinkable under Alex Ferguson, but that is the very least of the worries for United fans now!
Will Rio stay or do you agree Moyes is further losing the plot? Let us know your thoughts below.
