Mr Lee Predicts!

It has been a truly crazy week in the world of football!

First Rooney is ‘adamant’ he is leaving United, now he has signed a new five year contract.

Now that the week long Rooney transfer saga has finally been put to bed we can look forward to another exciting weekend of Premiership action.

The highlight of the weekend is Sunday’s six pointer between title hopefuls Manchester City and Arsenal and I foresee there is a high chance of Wolves getting a thrashing as Didier Drogba makes his return to the Chelsea team.

Here are my Predictions:

Tottenham v Everton

After a shocking start to the season, Moyes’ men are starting to turn in some decent results.

They are now unbeaten in three games and should be riding high after an encouraging victory in the Merseyside derby.

A Gareth Bale hat-trick deflected some of the attention away from an awful defensive display from Spurs midweek in the Champions League against Inter. I think the points will be shared in this match.

My Prediction: 1-1

Birmingham v Blackpool

Blackpool’s form this season has surprised everybody including Birmingham midfielder Seb Larsson who stated:

You always find one team does really well when they come up but not many people expected it to be Blackpool’

With the Seasiders currently proud holders of the best away form in the Premiership I am inclined to believe they could come away from this tie with a point.

My Prediction: 1-1

Chelsea v Wolves

Carlo Ancelotti has steered his side through a tough set of recent fixtures and has managed to hold on to the top spot in the Prem.

Chelsea have only one win from their previous three Premiership fixtures and just two goals, with City and Villa being well organised enough to suppress Chelsea’s usually rampant attack.

Lacking in the defensive discipline that City and Villa possess, I can see Wolves coming away from Stamford Bridge with their tails between their legs.

My Prediction: 4-0

Sunderland v Aston Villa

Steve Bruce has expressed his frustration with the amount of games his side has racked up this season stating:

‘I am hoping we can start turning these draws into wins. It’s a bit frustrating really because we could easily have had two or three more wins and been sitting in the top six’

Sunderland have the most draws of any team in the Premiership with six so far this season and are one off equalling a club record of six in a row.

I think this will be another draw.

My Prediction: 1-1

West Brom v Fulham

Roberto Di Matteo has led West Brom to their best-ever start to a Premier League season after eight matches.

The Baggies are deserved of their current sixth place position following their hard fought draw against Manchester United and win over Arsenal.

Given the strength of West Brom’s home form I think they will beat Fulham this weekend.

My Prediction: 2-1

Wigan v Bolton

Bolton travel to Wigan in the knowledge that a victory could see them ascend into the top four in the Premier League.

With both teams in good form so far this season, though Wigan will be kicking themselves for allowing Newcastle to gain a point against the after having been 2-0 up against them.

I expect this will be a closely fought battle that will most likely end in a draw.

My Prediction: 1-1

West Ham v Newcastle

West Ham enter this weekends game looking to lift themselves out of the relegation zone for the first time this season.

Their form is improving and have gone unbeaten in four games.

Newcastle have now gone over a month without a win and hover dangerously close to the relegation zone. I think West Ham will leapfrog Newcastle with a win at home on Saturday.

My Prediction: 2-1

Stoke v Manchester United

With the Rooney transfer saga having looked as though it could have dragged on until January, Sir Alex can breathe a sigh of relief that ended so swiftly.

United’s away form has been poor this season with four draws out of four games and is something they need to rectify to rejuvenate their title challenge.

With Berbatov and Nani on form I expect United to register their first away win of the season, on the condition their defence doesn’t collapse again.

My Prediction: 1-2

Liverpool v Blackburn

Roy Hodgson will be desperate for his side to lift themselves out of the relegation zone with a win against Blackburn this weekend.

Off the pitch problems have finally been resolved for Liverpool, but they continued on the pitch in the Merseyside derby last weekend.

Blackburn have only one win their last seven games and Liverpool have to come good at some point this season. I tip Liverpool to take all three points.

My Prediction: 1-0

Manchester City v Arsenal

Arsenal visit Manchester looking to knock City off their stride as both teams try to establish themselves as main contenders to Chelsea’s Premiership crown.

Arsene Wenger’s squad received a boost with Wenger the return to fitness of several of his key players including Cesc Fabregas, Theo Walcott and Nicklas Bendtner.

Arsenal’s record at Eastlands is poor, with four defeats in their last five visits in all competitions. I think City will win this one.

My Prediction: 2-1
