‘This was my worry’ – Man City fans want solutions after latest update on important player

The Man City fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for Pep Guardiola to bring in a few faces over the next few weeks. They’ve enjoyed a fantastic first half of the season, but suffered their first defeat over the weekend.

After conceding three disappointing goals against Liverpool on Sunday, Man City’s defensive deficiencies are pretty clear. They struggled to contain Liverpool’s rampant attack, particularly in the second-half, and so it would be wise for Guardiola to invest to secure more quality at the back.

The need for that was increased significantly during the first-half, too, with Fabian Delph forced off with an injury.

Now, a few days after the fact, the extent of that injury has become clearer, with Sammy Lee of Goal reporting that he looks set to be out for around two weeks.

It’s a significant blow for Man City, and it will make life tough for Pep Guardiola this weekend. They’re set to face Newcastle on Saturday, and without both Fabian Delph and Benjamin Mendy, there is a real shortage of options at the back.

It won’t come as a surprise, then, to learn that the Man City fans over on Twitter are desperate for Pep Guardiola to find a solution. With many clamouring for a new signing, and others bemoaning a lack of depth and quality at left-back, it’s fair to say that – perhaps for the first time this season – the Man City faithful are slightly concerned.

Indeed, one point that has been made is that a move for a new left-back needs to take priority over any move for Alexis Sanchez – or any other attacker for that matter. Whilst Man City are blessed with attacking depth, the same cannot be said for their defensive line. This, then, appears to have changed the mind of the Man City faithful – with many no longer desperate for Sanchez.

Take a look at a few examples below of what has been said below…
